Blood Mandarin

Blood mandarin, also known as blood orange or red mandarin, is a citrus variety with a deeper, richer, and more complex aroma than regular mandarin. The fruit gets its name from the red-crimson color of its flesh, caused by anthocyanin pigments that develop in cool nighttime temperatures.

The scent is sweeter and darker than standard orange, with a subtle berry-like quality and a warm, almost raspberry-tinged richness. In perfumery, blood mandarin provides a more sophisticated and luxurious citrus note that bridges the gap between fruity and citrus categories.

It has enough depth and sweetness to last longer than typical citrus top notes. Blood mandarin works beautifully in both fresh compositions and richer oriental or gourmand fragrances.
