Smells Like — Like a smoother, warmer Sauvage — bergamot and ambroxan with a touch of vanilla.

Sauvage Eau de Parfum takes the wildly successful Sauvage formula and deepens it with richer spices and a vanilla-enhanced base. Released in 2018 as an Eau de Parfum for men, this version maintains the magnetic, approachable character of the original while adding warmth and complexity that makes it feel more substantial and long-lasting.

The opening is clean and bright. Bergamot provides the same beautiful citrus burst that defines the entire Sauvage line, crisp, natural, and immediately uplifting.

The heart is where the EDP diverges from the EDT. Sichuan pepper returns with its unique, tingling spiciness, and lavender provides herbal freshness.

Star anise adds a new element, a sweet, licorice-like quality that gives the middle notes an unexpected twist. Nutmeg contributes warm, slightly sweet spiciness that reinforces the warmer direction of this version.

The base builds on ambroxan, the molecule that gives all Sauvage versions their distinctive radiant quality. But here, vanilla is added, providing a creamy sweetness that softens the base and gives it a more sensual, gourmand quality.

The result is a base that projects beautifully while feeling warmer and more inviting than the EDT. With dominant fresh spicy and citrus accords supported by prominent amber character, Sauvage EDP maintains the accessibility that made the original so popular while offering more depth for those who want it.

The moderate lavender, musky, and aromatic qualities add familiar Sauvage character, while the star anise and vanilla bring welcome novelty. It performs exceptionally well in cooler weather when the spices and vanilla can bloom on the skin, though it remains versatile enough for year-round wear.

Many consider this the best version in the Sauvage line.
